In deep-sky work, a small-aperture, short-focal-length optic is sampled properly with smaller pixels. In fact, there is a place or two in astrophotography to which smaller pixels are very well suited and even preferred. Fast focal ratios and short focal lengths like on this f/2 eight-inch RASA are a great match for small pixels For longer focal-length telescopes, you really need larger pixels to achieve proper sampling and a good signal-to-noise-ratio per pixel. Unfortunately for us, the sensor market cares more about hummingbird photography than it does for imaging galaxies far, far away. Unfortunately for us, there is a big difference between a 5-minute exposure at night through miles of atmosphere and a 1⁄ 2000-second image of a sunlit hummingbird that is four feet away. The drive to “more megapixels” is driven by a desire for more resolution. Twice the pixel size is actually four times the surface area for collecting light. Nine microns in fact, whereas most DSLRs or point-and-shoot cameras at the time had pixels at least half that size. When Sony came out with its A7s mirrorless camera that had such tremendous capability for capturing the Milky Way, people would speculate about what it’s sensitivity secret was. I’ve talked about this relationship before. Professional observatories are usually located where the seeing conditions are as good as can be achieved on Earth.Īll other things being equal, cameras with larger pixels are generally more sensitive to light and have better signal-to-noise characteristics. Big telescopes with long-focal-lengths need really large pixels in order to work effectively, and the same goes for you. But without the use of some sort of adaptive optics, they have the same limitations as you do when you're shooting from your backyard. Sure, professional telescopes are located where the seeing conditions are better than you probably experience. All those gigantic telescopes you see at a professional observatory have to follow the same physical rules we do (and my astronomer friend was surely taking this into account with that 9-micron pixel camera). If you recall when I wrote about pixel scale and sampling before, it is important to have proper sampling to obtain good data to work with. The bread-and-butter CCD sensors, such as the KAF-8300 or the Sony 694, are floating 4- to 6-micron pixels, and some popular CMOS choices are starting to dive below 3-micron pixels. I laughed out loud because in the amateur market, 9-micron pixels are huge by most standards. “I just love those tiny little 9- micron pixels,” he said. While doing some volunteer work at a professional observatory some time ago, I overheard one of the astronomers talking about his new camera. Why does this matter? The drive for smaller pixels is usually about gaining resolution, but in astrophotography, this can also work against us. As a result, it’s getting harder and harder to find cameras with larger pixels. However, CMOS-based sensors for astrophotography are becoming increasingly popular (see my recent article in Sky & Telescope’s May issue on the CCD to CMOS transition). Smaller pixels have both some inherent advantages and disadvantages over larger pixels, but the truth is that in most things that matter, larger pixels are generally better. Pixel size is a big consideration when selecting a camera for astrophotography.

WinPcap Capture Driver: WinPcap is an open source capture driver that allows you to capture network packets on any version of Windows. One of the following capture drivers is required to use HTTPNetworkSniffer: This utility works on any version of Windows, starting from Windows 2000 and up to Windows 10, including 64-bit systems. You can easily select one or more HTTP information lines, and then export them to text/html/xml/csv file or copy them to the clipboard and then paste them into Excel. For every HTTP request, the following information is displayed: Host Name, HTTP method (GET, POST, HEAD), URL Path, User Agent, Response Code, Response String, Content Type, Referer, Content Encoding, Transfer Encoding, Server Name, Content Length, Cookie String, and more. Healthcare provider time should not be undervalued and iScribe helps to maximize efficiency and productivity unlike any other solution available today.HTTPNetworkSniffer is a packet sniffer tool that captures all HTTP requests/responses sent between the Web browser and the Web server and displays them in a simple table. iScribe’s modern mobile user experience allows the clinical documentation to be completed at the point of care without taking away from the provider / patient experience. Physicians can complete their encounter without having to wait until the end of the day or after office hours and there is no waiting for pending transcription. IScribe reduces the time that healthcare providers typically spend in the EHR allowing more time to take care of patients. iScribe users have saved $15,000 - $25,000 per provider per year in reduced transcription costs. By using the real-time speech-to-text feature, transcription costs can be eliminated. Users can dictate directly into the appropriate sections (CC, HPI, ROS, PE, A/P) on the mobile device and save their documentation immediately into their EHR. With iScribe’s real-time speech-to-text dictation feature, users can visually see the dictated text directly on the screen as they are speaking. We leverage industry leading speech-to-text technology to increase provider efficiency and productivity while eliminating expensive transcription costs. IScribe is an easy-to-use app that gives providers anytime/anywhere access via iPhone, iPad, or Mac to view and enter clinical information for patients. IScribe cures physician burnout and allows physicians to focus on caring for patients rather than the computer screen. For example, an X.509 certificate includes the format of the certificate, the serial number of the certificate, the algorithm used to sign the certificate, the name of the certification authority (CA) that issued the certificate, the name and public key of the entity that requests the certificate, and the CA's signature. Certificates can contain different types of data. Server certificates are sent from the server to the client so that the client can obtain a public key for the server and ensure that the server has been verified by a certification authority. The following sections provide details on creating WinHTTP based applications that elect an SSL protocol version, examine server certificates, and select client certificates to send to HTTPS servers. While the details of the SSL handshake and transaction are handled internally, WinHTTP enables you to retrieve encryption levels, specify the security protocol, and interact with server and client certificates. WinHTTP provides a high level interface for using SSL. If a common set of requirements can be agreed upon and met, an SSL connection is established. Essentially, the client and server each present a list of required and preferred settings. It also enables the server to confirm the identity of the client with client certificates.Įach of these issues encryption, server identity, and client identity are negotiated in the SSL handshake that occurs when a client first requests a resource from a Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) server. It enables the client to verify that the server belongs to a trusted entity through the use of server certificates. SSL provides a mechanism to perform up to 128-bit encryption on all transactions between the client and server. SSL is an established standard for ensuring secure HTTP transactions. This topic explains concepts involved in an SSL transaction and how they are handled using WinHTTP. Microsoft Windows HTTP Services (WinHTTP) supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) transactions including client certificates. The Fire Stick 4K Max gets some upgrades over the older 4K Stick, including support for Wi-Fi 6 and a picture-in-picture feature for pulling up your security camera feed while you watch TV. Google TV connects to all major streaming services. However, I find it disconnects from my Wi-Fi frequently, even when my actual TV is connected and working. It streams in 1080p HDR and includes all the features we love about Google TV, like its excellent search. ★ HD Alternative: Google released an HD version for just $30. You may have to regularly clear the cache yourself, which is annoying. The only downside? It has little storage, so you run the risk of running out of room. Plus you can search with your voice via Google Assistant, which can also control your smart home devices or answer questions. It makes finding something to watch a faster and easier process. You can browse and search across platforms, so you can find where a specific title is streaming or look for something broader, like just for comedies. Google TV got an upgrade too, and its interface is now nicer than Roku's. It adds a remote-a much-needed companion-plus built-in Google TV (formerly Android TV), so you don't ever have to touch your phone to watch TV if you don't want to. This Chromecast ( 8/10, WIRED recommends) is a great streaming device. Roku connects to all major streaming services. Roku products are frequently discounted, too. ★ Another Streaming Stick: The Streaming Stick 4K ($50) is a little cheaper, and its remote doesn't have hands-free voice control, if you aren't interested in that. You'll have to charge the remote, which I don't particularly love, but you do save money on replacing batteries. Remote lost in the couch cushions? Just ask Roku where it is to activate a beep. Say “Hey Roku, play Succession on HBO Max” without lifting a finger (yep, Roku now supports HBO Max!). There's a slider on the side of the remote that, if pushed to the on position, allows you to talk to your remote from anywhere in the room. We think most people will like the stick-it's one of Roku's cheapest devices, and the 4K Plus is faster and comes with a longer-range wireless receiver it also plugs right into your TV's HDMI port, so you won't see it dangling. The Streaming Sticks have held our top spot for years, and the most recent version is the 4K Plus. Roku's interface is the easiest to navigate, and all the major streaming services are there. But if you have a house full of Apple stuff and enjoy AirPlay, you may as well complete your collection. Lately, it seems to care more about its Apple TV+ subscription service and app than its physical hardware. It doesn't update its models or its interface all that often. It also has most apps, but TV boxes remain a side project for Apple. Apple TV has a slick interface and Apple's usual gloss. If you buy or rent a lot of movies from Amazon, and subscribe to Prime, the Fire TV is appealing. Unfortunately, it sometimes feels like an ad for Amazon stuff more than a diverse ecosystem of apps and content. Amazon Fire TV is geared toward those who really enjoy Amazon's ecosystem, and it will quickly point you to its content. The only problem is that these don't manage storage quite as well. With its newest Chromecast, we stopped seeing the bugs and problems that used to plague the platform, and it includes basically every streaming app out there, as well as YouTube and Spotify. It's been around for years, but it just recently (in 2020) nailed the experience. Google TV, formerly called Android TV, is Google's latest streaming OS.You can also do this with Apple TV's Airplay 2 functionality, but you need an iOS or macOS device. Though that's no longer its main draw, it has the added benefit of letting you send web pages or other content directly from your smartphone (it's easiest on an Android Phone), which is sometimes quite handy. Chromecast used to eschew an interface altogether (and older models still hold true to this), but the newest version has Google TV built-in.The company survives solely on how well its streaming device platform performs. Roku also isn't made by one of the major tech companies. Plus, if you decide to switch TVs, you can just move your Roku to another TV in your house at any time. Roku is our favorite streaming OS because it has just about every streaming app there is, and setup is hassle-free. Nothing about the wolffish makes it more aggressive than any other carnivore, regardless of how pretty it looks. How Does A Wolf Fish Look Like?Īt first glance, these fish look pretty ugly, grizzled, and almost demonic, but their looks can be deceiving. Wolf Eel: This species looks like an eel because of its long body, but it is actually a pure wolffish. The color varies between olive green and brown and has dark spots. Spotted Wolf fish: This species lives on both sides of the North Atlantic Ocean between Russia and Canada. Anarhichas lupus is the scientific name for this species (lupus means wolf in Latin). It also lives in southern places like France and Spain. It has a blue-gray body, a big dorsal fin, and a light underside. It is also called the bull-headed catfish, the Arctic wolffish, and many other names.īering Wolf fish: This species lives around the Pacific coasts of Russia and Alaska, as the name suggests.Ītlantic Wolf fish: This species lives in an area between Greenland, Iceland, the North Sea area, Labrador, Massachusetts, and the coasts of Norway and Russia. Northern Wolf fish is native to the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. The most important difference between them is how they look and where they are. Here is a list of the five kinds of wolffish. Four of these species are in the Anarhichas genus, and the wolf eel is the only species in the genus Anarrhichthys. There are five known species of these fish, which belong to two different genera. It has more than 10,000 species, which is about 40% of all bony fish. This is actually one of the groups of animals with the most different kinds. This seems to come from a Greek word that means “to climb up.” They belong to the order of Perciformes and are most similar to eelpouts, gunnels, and quillfish. The scientific name for the wolffish family of species is Anarhichadidae. minor), also from the North Atlantic, and the black-spotted wolf-eel (Anarhichthys ocellatus), which lives in the eastern Pacific. It lives in the North Atlantic, the spotted wolffish (A. Some of the species have vertical bands, such as in Atlantic wolffish (Anarhichas lupus). They have name catfishes in Europe, and Europeans and Americans eat them. Wolf fish live in water from the shore to at least 300 meters deep. Their powerful teeth are made up of large canines and heavy molars that can handle crabs, starfish, sea urchins, and other prey.īear in mind that wolffish America and wolffish amazon are quite famous. Wolffish have a big head, a long body that tapers, and a single long dorsal fin on top. The longest species can grow to about 2.3 meters long (7.5 feet). Wolf fish is any of five large, long-bodied fish species in the family Anarhichadidae (order Perciformes) that live in the waters of the northern Atlantic and Pacific. |
